The main task of the Czech Society for the Study of Obesity is to assemble physicians and health professionals involved in obesity management and research and to represent their professional interests.
The aims of the association are to organize pregradual and postgradual education in obesitology, to support research in obesitology and to develop guideliness on obesity management.
The association helps to promote scientifically based knowledge on obesity prevention and obesity management in professional and lay press and in the other mass media.
The association collaborates with organizations participating on obesity prevention and obesity management, represented by professional associations, non profit and commercial organizations interested in obesity, nutrition, dietology and related topics. CSSO is member of the European Association for the Study of Obesity and of the International Association for the Study of Obesity.
